Hi, I'm Joe Wheeler and this is my website.
What I do
Most of my professional life has been devoted to designing and building interactive stuff with Flash and, before that, Director. I love to bring ideas to life; fleshing out concepts, selling ideas and of course, programming. I'm also a reasonably capable graphic designer. ...and when I'm not doing that
I'm a father of two boys, which is excellent and fills a surprising amount of time. When I can (which is not very often), I stay up until dawn playing with Ableton Live (before that it was SF Acid, and before that Cubase). I'm a lifetime bedroom DJ. I collect all kinds of electronic music, hip hop and funk. I love sneakers, kung-fu, beer and really spicy food. I've spent far too long playing Grand Theft Auto, but I don't think it's effected me.
I've lived most of my life in London (England) and am now a permanent resident of the United States of America, living in Austin Texas.
This is a crap blog
Er, yeah sorry. I nicked the blog format for my portfolio because I really like it. It's so immediate and accessible. But to be honest, I'm not really interesting in blogging. This site is really only intended to provide a showcase for my work.
Use Cake is a crap name for a blog
Sorry about that too. I used to run round evangelising UML, so usecake.com struck me as funny for about five minutes -- use case/use cake. Geddit? I'll get me coat...
However, and most importantly. Use Cake does not, in any way, support the use of made up drugs.
