Fortis Lifeplotter Detail

Realizing the strapline "Life's a Curve", the Fortis Lifeplotter is a Flash microsite that encouraged users to explore the Fortis brand by playing with an animated curve. The site was a cross between a rich internet application and an advert.

The site asked users to plot key life events on a graph. It then generated an animated line which they could share with other users. Key features:

  • Drag 'n drop interface
  • Translation into 3 languages
  • Flash remoting

I led the development, wrote the functional spec (with use cases), designed the technical architecture (implements MVC and is based on ARP), prototyped the dynamic animation and built the Flash front end. The php backend was cleverly built by Ginger Pete and Dangerous Mike Allanson. The creative concept and creative direction came from Grey.

Here are some of my prototypes.
