The Four Ridges campaign was spoofed on the b-movie "The Blob" in the most delicious way. The campaign for Frijj, Dairy Crest's popular brand of Milkshake, was supported by two Flash microsites, using a hybrid of video, Flash (ActionScript 3) and HTML.

The teaser site was an interactive toy involving a very creepy young girl (Martha) and a moth. Several bits of ActionScript came together to make the piece work. Firstly the moth was built using PaperVision3d and a custom interactive motion blur effect that I'd been playing with for a while. Martha was shot on slow-motion HD video to get the smooth movement of her head. The main technical challenge was to keep the motion responsive without blowing the file size. The solution was pretty neat and involved decompressing video into a large array of BitmapData instances.

The main site was an interactive b-movie featuring a cunningly produced video navigation.

I built the interactive toy for the teaser site, prototyped the video navigation and provided technical direction on the main build. Credit for rest of the Flash built goes to Tonic's own, Tom "Dr Bunsen Honeydew" Bandy. Video production was done by the amazingly talented Alex Dobbins and the creative direction came from the mistro, Simon Heys.

The site was 1st runner up in the Internet Advertising Bureau's (IAB) Creative Showcase, July 2008.
