The Financial Times commissioned an online game as part of their 2004 winter campaign. The aim of the campaign was to increase subscriptions to FT.com and help establish the FT.com brand as an essential tool of business. This was one of my all time favourite projects!
Here are some of things I did:
- Pitched the concept to the client (with GT Creative Director, Alistair Jeffs)
- Designed the game-play, wrote and illustrated the design brief
- Build the ActionScript for the game (Object Oriented AS1)
- Wrote functional specs using UML
- Created the IA for the site
The site was built on GT's ActionScript 1 Framework under James Knight's superb technical direction. The character animation was created by Justin Southworth and the JSP back end was developed by Pete Setchell.
The site was Macromedia's, Site of the Day, March 1st 2005 and is included in their best of 2005 showcase.
