The Museum of Misses (Detail)

Make a Fresh Start was a novel, ambitious and highly interactive marketing site to support the European launch of the Sony Ericsson K800i Cyber-shot camera phone. The site encouraged users to upload, share and destroy each others photographs. The site was built in Flash 7, powered by an ASP backend.

The site included a fast scrolling photo gallery called "The Museum of Misses". The gallery code was based on a 2d gaming engine I'd been playing with at the time. This included a Flash based, drag n' drop editor web application for administrators. The scrolling engine and editor and where also used on another photo gallery site, Walls Summer.

I built the image upload and photo gallery (ActionScript 2) parts of the site. The product demos and photo "burn" where built by Owen Clark and Dangerous Dave McNulty. The ASP backend was built by Francis Gilbert.

This video (from Dare's portfolio) shows the image upload, photo burn and gallery, in action.

The site was 1st runner up in the Internet Advertising Bureau's (IAB) Creative Showcase, August 2006.
